
21st edition of the Barcelona Festival of Song in the Library of Catalonia / Activities / Visit us / Start
On July 3, 4, 9 and 11, at 8.30 pm, there will be in the Llevant Room of the Library of Catalonia four concerts of Latin American and Iberian artistic song within the framework of the 21st edition of the Barcelona Festival of Song.
With the slogan “Songs that connect Mons”, the festival presents a program of songs in Spanish, Catalan and Portuguese performed by international artists in various emblematic spaces in Barcelona.
The program combines releases and recoveries, and thus consolidates the mission of the contest to recover and promote Ibero -American musical heritage to contribute to the construction of a more diverse and inclusive vocal canon.
The Library of Catalonia will host the following concerts:
- Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 8.30 pm: concert “Alma Brazileña”a musical journey through the richness of the Brazilian artistic song, with Josani Pimenta, Mezzosoprano, and Marcelo Pimenta, piano.
- Friday, July 4, 2025, at 8.30 pm: premiere of the cycle “The Divan of Tamarit”work of the American tenor David Dies based on the poetry of Federico García Lorca. It will be performed by the tenor James Kryshak, accompanied by the piano by Joel Papinoja and the Rapsoda Patricia Caicedo.
- Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 8.30 pm: 20th -century Mexican song concert “Who is this voz?”with the mezzo -soprano Marlene Solís and the pianist Santiago Oviedo.
- Friday, July 11, 2025, at 8.30 pm: Concert of the twelve artists who have participated in the course of history and interpretation of the 21st edition of the Barcelona Festival of Song. All of them come from the United States and will perform songs in Spanish, Catalan and Portuguese.
The four performances will take place in the Llevant Room of the Library of Catalonia.
