17th Artist’s Book Festival
17th Artist’s Book Festival and the small edition
international • itinerant • inclusive
World Book Day of Unesco and Sant Jordi, 23 April 2026, Barcelona.
Created in 2008 by Elisa Pellacani with the ILDE Association in collaboration with the Civic Center Pati Llimona.
CIRCULAR BOOKS
Everything returns, without beginning or end but in a continuous, possible rereading, which is never the same: it changes, recycles, is sustainable, it is a space as big as the imagination, it is a prism of light and shadow like life. The book is circular in its structure, in the development of its content, by opening new possibilities of knowledge and creative sharing that multiply, intertwine, contaminate.
On Sant Jordi’s Day and Unesco’s World Book Day, a corner of the city is dedicated to the arts of the book. Plaça Sant Just, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, hosts the seventeenth edition of the “Festival of Artists’ Books and Small Editions”. In addition to an exhibition of unpublished works from all over the world, inspired by the theme proposed by the ILDE Association for the 2026 Festival and which then becomes itinerant to other places until the next edition, authors, artists, artisans and creatives will be present throughout the day in the “Plaça dels Llibres Imaginats” with their artistic work on books: engravings, graphics, editions, artist’s books. People interested in participating must contact the ILDE Association by sending an email to ildebook@gmail.com before March 31, 2026so that a program can be drawn up with the participating artists.
