Synopsis:
Colombo (Javier Gutiérrez) works in a parking lot and complements his salary by making tricks with marijuana. One day, Mario (Luis Zahera), a very peculiar character and amateur ornithologist who hires him as a chauffeur, appears to observe cranes in the wetlands of the Empordà. There they discover that the birds have changed the course and are now in the Danube Delta, in Romania. For very different reasons, they take a journey to the mouth of the Black Sea that will change their lives.
Road Movie moving, full of humanity and exceptional interpretations. Pájaros, acid and bittersweet, gives a sensitive look that explores male fragility and the search for redemption. With a balanced script and a mature direction of Pau Durà (Alcoy, 1972), it offers an emotional story about companionship and the passage of time.
Pájaros is the third feature film of the director after the Opera Prima Formentera Lady (2018) and Tuscany https://ajuntament.barcelona.cat/centrescivics/ca/activity/toscana (2022), which could be seen on the screen of 2023. The actor Luis Zahera received the Biznaga de Plata Award for best performance at the Malaga 2024 festival.
