05/11 – 7 p.m. Opening: DOG MEAT by Marta González.

A project by Marta González.

cDOG HARNESS is a photographic project that explores the ways in which sexual violence, the hypersexualization of childhood and the pornification of society have become naturalized as part of contemporary life, transforming into a device of power that acts through images and technologies.

It is the fear for their children in front ofthis situation is what pushes the author to investigate this social phenomenon. This fear is not articulated solely from critical thinking, but has its origin in an imaginary universe of its own, populated by disturbing images that emerge from headquarters subconscious From this intimate space the author gives shape to the “monster” (the device of power), embodies itnt it to the figure of the dog as the materialization of a diffuse but constant threat, and places a great symbolic burden on it to make visible how she perceives this danger by representing the various forms that power takes to establish this reality: from predation, to the domestication and fidelity of the “cdog ring.” Fresh meat is used as a visual resource to highlight how the pornographic interface and the butcher shop window become indistinguishable.

Marta González is a visual artist interested in issues that challenge women from a feminist and critical perspective.

He uses photography as a critical thinking tool with which he questions, reflects and elaborates his visual essays from research. His working method is generated from intimacy and the private, and is projected towards the public, universal and political. She has been mentioned, selected and awarded in various competitions and state calls. At present he struggles to maintain the balance between his personal life and his determination to remain within the national contemporary artistic scene.
