MICAELA TROMBINI(Santa Fe)
This Argentinian artist of algorithmic noise is at the confluence of the sciencethe music and theengineering. In 2023 he released his first album, ‘TARGET’, a hypnotic work by pink noise generated from the transduction of data generated by fruits. The substances in the juice of lemons, kiwis i strawberries they cause specific sensors to react – conductivity, electrochemical, voltage – and this information is monitored and processed by a code of composition algorithmic. Thus, a food as everyday as a fruit becomes one chemical deficiency which feeds a project ofbioinformatics experimentation.
GIACOMO SALIS + STEFANO MANCONI(Silence)
The exchange with Sardinia’s Signal festival brings us a sound performance born from the intersection oftwo musical universes. The first is that of the percussionistGiacomo come out: acoustic, based on theresearch timbrethesoundthesilenceand thenoise. The second is that of the electronic artistStefano Manconidonesampling in alive, synthesis sonorousiprocessing of effectslooking to transcend the boundaries of the genres of this type of music through a minimalist approach. The result of this meeting is a kind ofperceptual ambiguityabout the source of the sound, which is combined in a way that makes it difficult to tell what is coming from the percussion and what has been generated electronically.
DULLMEA(port)
Dullmeait was all onefeelingwhen they were introduced to the LEM in 2018, when it had only been working under that name for two years. After a long career in classical and contemporary, jazz and theater composition, Sofia Faria Fernandes began to experiment with thevoiceand elements ofsound modificationgiving rise to this project. Since then, Dullmea has been growing and maturing, developing a unique electronic circuit created by herself on which, in addition, she has deployed a technique and a languageinnovativeabandoning the use of structures and parts previously composed bysurrender completelyto improvisation.
