🟠Wednesday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m. Talk: “What beautiful genes you have!” Activity included in the “Toc-Toc” program of the UB. By Ferran Casals, professor and researcher at the University of Barcelona. Thanks to new genetic analysis technologies, we can currently sequence the genome in just two days. Through bioinformatics, we can extract more and more information from these three billion letters (A, C, G, T), such as eye color, geographic origin or the risk of certain diseases. The use of this information is already part of the diagnosis and treatment of some pathologies and of assisted reproduction, and its use will increase in the coming years, in parallel with a better knowledge of the functioning of the human genome. 👉 Free activity and without prior reservation, come 10 minutes early!
