Three good practices to take care of work and people
During the last months, the Circle of Feminist Economies of Coòpolis has made three interviews with cooperatives that have promoted internal practices aimed at reducing inequalities, taking care of the people who are part of them and strengthening the sustainability of the projects. Far from being closed recipes, these experiences they show living processescrossed by complex debatesstresses and collective learning. They all start from the same idea: the way in which work is organized, resources are distributed and internal relationships are managed has a direct impact on the well-being of people and on the solidity of the cooperative project.
The experience of buzzing focus on the salary management as a key space to address inequalities. Based on an equal base salary, supplements linked to responsibilities and a resistance box designed to respond to personal situations, the cooperative has opened a process of deep dialogue about the workloads, care and vital needs of each partner. A path that has not been without difficulties, but which has strengthened transparency, trust and internal cohesion. Read the Zumzeig experience.
In another area, mensaka has boosted one wage supplement with a gender perspective in a strongly masculinized sector. Beyond its economic impact, the practice has a clear symbolic value: to recognize that women and dissent do not start from the same conditions and that positive actions are needed to make visible and combat these structural inequalities. The fact that this measure is included in the statutes reinforces the cooperative’s feminist commitment and sends a clear message to the people who join it. Read Mensakas’ experience.
Finally, Indágora shares an experience focused on the prevention of attrition and internal conflicts through a external support process. Creating safe spaces to talk, review roles, make dynamics more flexible and strengthen mutual trust has allowed the cooperative to face moments of stress and change with more solidity. Three different practices that coincide in one same bet: dedicating time, resources and intentionality to caring for people as an essential part of building fairer organizations rooted in SSE values.
