The Greek god Asclepius welcomes you to the “EMPÚRIES. Port of Cultures” exhibition. 🏛🌊 This Hellenistic sculpture, created in a Greek workshop of the 2nd century BC, is one of the most exceptional finds in Empúries and, without a doubt, the most symbolic. Did you know that it is made of different types of marble? The torso with the head and arms are of marble from the island of Paros, while the rest of the body with the tunic and sandals are sculpted from marble from the Pentelic quarries. A real gem!
