On Wednesday, in the Sala de la Caritat, an academic event was held in honor of Joan Lluís Marfany. Professor Marfany delivered the conference “Emergence and (peculiar) development of the figure of the modern writer in Catalonia in the first half of the 19th century”. Previously, professors Josep Maria Fradera, professor emeritus of the UPF, and professor Josep Maria Domingo, professor of the UB, glossed the figure of Marfany as a historian of culture and literature. The director of the Caalunya Library, Eugènia Serra, and Àngels Solà, from the Research Association, presented the event.
