“Morando in Arte” exhibition. The art of the attorney’s office”
Exhibition message:
- “In September 2014, the Illustrious Association of Prosecutors of the Courts of Barcelona freely handed over its documentary collection to the City’s Historical Archive. At the same time, the commitment was made to make it accessible to researchers and to make a sample of it.
- “With it, they seek to explain the remote origins of the profession, rediscover the beginnings of the professional association in Barcelona and gloss over its evolution. To highlight the complementarity between the collection delivered and that of the archive, you will find, in dialogue with each other, some documents from the College and others produced by the institutions that have given them the legal framework: the monarchy, the Council de Cent and the City Council.”
- “The title of the exhibition alludes to the fact that, in the Middle Ages, liberal professions were called arts and that attorneys had to learn them in a practical way from someone who was already practicing, that is that is, living in the profession, and therefore, morando in arte.
