‘Love, Love, Love’, an acid comedy about time and dreams of youth
La Villarroel recovers from February 13 Love, Love, Lovean “acid” look of Mike Barlett directed Julio Manrique and with the stamp of The brutal. The play, which reflects humorously about the dreams of youth and lost generations, proposes a four -decades journey through the lives of characters, from youth to maturity.
Set in Oxford (United Kingdom), Love, Love, Love It tells the story of two young dreamers convinced that everything is possible, but with time and after having two children and accumulating mortgages, they realize that the world collapses to the beat of the Beatles song All you Need Is Love. “When Kenneth and Sandra get to know each other are two young rebels who dream of a future without structures, a free and happy world,” says Manrique: “They are convinced, as the Beatles song says, that everything is possible and that the only one they need is love. “
The work proposes a journey through the life of its protagonists, from the optimistic 60’s of the last century, to the end of the Thatcherism in the 90’s to the 2011 recession. “During the trip they will discover that it may not be love, l “Unique they needed and their children, one day, end up counting on the world that their parents have left them,” says the director: “Comedy becomes thus a kind of generational combat.”
A combat between generations
Starring in Laia Marull, David Selvas, Clara de Ramon and Marc Bosch, Love, Love, Love It represents a whole generation that has the feeling that he has not experienced the same opportunities or privileges that his parents have had. To do this he uses humor: “This is a show made with humor that talks about what unites and separates different generations, through a critical and tender look at the same time.”
The original theatrical piece, created by playwright Mike Barlett, made its debut in London in 2010 and experienced a dizzying promotion to success, raising with the award for the best work in the edition of the Awards. National Theater of the United Kingdom of 2011.
