Las muertes chiquitas, an expression to refer to orgasm, is a different work…
Las muertes chiquitas, an expression to refer to the orgasm, is a work that is difficult to classify, since it is many things at the same time, an anthropological, videographic, sociological, performative and political study, materialized in a 📔 book, an 🎫 exhibition and a 🎥 documentary. “You are asked to have a doctorate, speak several languages, travel, be a good mother, a good wife and also multi-orgasmic. (…) But you were the example of what nobody wants to be: woman, indigenous and poor.” Citlali. You will find a collection of testimonies from thirty women from different social strata, ages, beliefs and trajectories, around a common axis: pleasure and orgasms. Sallarés, but goes beyond female sexuality and investigates over the course of three years in Mexico, how this experience is related to power and violence, turning a unique and individual experience into a collective reflection. Ultimately, women’s bodies remain a battleground. This research has generated a documentary available in Filmin and also participated in the exhibition FEMINISMES! in the CCCB.
