🌙🦇 Have you ever dreamed of a night like this? 🦇🌙 Join us on Halloween for a journey through the dark and mystical realms of goth rock as we celebrate the release of The Cure’s long-awaited album, Songs from A Lost World. Not only do we delve into the haunting and enchanting sounds of The Cure’s entire discography, but as the night progresses, we’ll delve deeper into the roots of goth rock with a curated selection of seminal artists who shaped the genre. The goth subculture emerged from post-punk in the late ’70s, with bands like The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division and Bauhaus leading the way. Known for its dark sound, gothic rock features melancholic melodies, dramatic arrangements, and themes of sadness, nihilism, and dark romanticism. These beginnings gave rise to a broader goth culture that we still see today, encompassing fashion, clubs and publications. So join us, embrace the shadows, put on your best goth outfit and let the music take you to a place where the lost are found. We’ll even award the best Siouxsie/Robert-inspired look of the night with a special prize! 🩸 See you there starting at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31 at Oblique HiFi Bar. 🖤
