[Exposició] Contacts SUR Nº1. Argentina, from Lab Special Ship

A special Ship Project.

Contacts Sur is a space of pause and reflection on southern problems, told by Latin American creators who link their lives in Barcelona. Migration that address both sides of the emotional spectrum, in a large network of affections that are woven day by day. There are many kilometers that separate us, but also many emergencies that unite us.

We propose a trio from different disciplines of the arts and humanities, where we can analyze the present of the places we inhabit parallel.

Carlos Bosch (Mendoza, 1941-Buenos Aires, 2020) Argentine photographer whose gaze appeals to us from the most important graphic media in Argentina and Catalonia between the turbulent sixties and eighties of the 20th century.

Misery It is the first piece of the series and is the result of a research process that does not speak of a person, but of the circumstance that everyone could suffer. It is made in the summer of 2015 in his neighborhood, San Cristóbal, in the mattress of a homeless neighbor who shared his precariousness so that Carlos Bosch complays.

In this work, the photographer does not take away, but he gets involved in a reality he observed in his daily life. A few days later, the mattress appeared burned as a metaphor for what would happen.

In these times of cruelty, where the invisibility of suffering is aggravated, Carles Bosch proposes us to address misery and violation as a way of looking at our time, without naturalizing them, and as a condition that threatens the lives of the lives of The people of any society in the world today.

This photo is a warning, an alternate, an call to build and strengthen community ties in order to deal with this new order that individualism imposes on us as the only way of life.
