exhibition "No comment"
Exhibition message: “In many of her projects Brathwaite-Shirley starts from an interest in generating archives that document and remember black and trans lives. These files, fictions or memories are often activated and formalized as video games, although other formats such as installations, texts or performance are also incorporated. “Rather than organizing information or generating taxonomies, the archives created by the artist question and confront, so that when accessing them they make us rethink questions such as: who are we, what intentions do we have or what do we value? With these proposals we have to interpret the situations presented to us and make decisions based on how we position ourselves in front of what is exposed in the stories that every archive tells.» This article of the Cultural Agenda was updated on July 11, 2024, therefore, in anticipation of possible subsequent modifications, we recommend that you compare the information with that published on the website of the Joan Miró Foundation.
