Exhibition “Destructures of Power”
Message of the exhibition:
- «Multimedia artist and central figure of Latin American conceptual art, Regina Silveira (Porto Alegre, 1939), is one of the pioneers in Brazil of theexperimentation with new technologies of technical reproduction and circulation of images. This exhibition has been reviewing its production since the 1970’s and includes an important set of works from the period of the Brazilian civic-compulsory dictatorship (1964-1985), a context of censorship and repression. Since arriving in Spain in 1967, Silveira has explored the possibilities of language codes, perspective and visual perception through drawings, prints, photo montages, videos and spatial interventions. Full of irony and conceptual biases, his graphic, audiovisual and three -dimensional work comments on the past, questions the status quo and imagines other realities. “
