Next Tuesday, May 20, at 6.30 pm, will take place in the Room of the Charity of the Library of Catalonia the delivery of the XXI Jordi Domènech Prize for translation of poetry to Pau Sabaté, for the translation of the Greek of the book of the book Invisible Abrian Diaryby Odysseus elitis. The prize calls for Cafe Central Cultural Association with the support of the Banco Sabadell Foundation.

The delivery ceremony will begin with the welcome of the director of the Library of Catalonia, Eugènia Serra. The President of the Café Central Cultural Cultural Association, Xavier Vidal, and the director of the Banco de Sabadell Foundation, Sònia Mulero, will then take part.

Next, Esteve Plantada will read the minutes of the jury, and the director of the Banco de Sabadell Foundation will present the prize to the translator Pau Sabaté. There will also be a reading, in Greek and in Catalan, of some poems from the award -winning book, A April Invisible Abril.

The translator Dolors Udina will give the conference “What is won with translation”. The event will end with the presentation of the plaquette of the year.

This award has been awarded since 2005 in tribute to the poet and translator from Sabadell Jordi Domènech i Soteras. It rewards translations into Catalan of poetry books written in any other language and has an endowment of 6,000 euros. The award -winning works are published in the “Jardins de Samarkand” collection, by Café Central publishing house.
