Next Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 7 p.m., the conference “Conxita Badia, more than a muse” will take place in the Sala de la Caritat of the Library of Catalonia, as part of the 15th cycle of Catalan classical music “Your classics”organized by the Joan Manén Association.
The conference will be given by Alicia Daufí, pianist and musicologist, on the occasion of the concert “I’ve always felt the madness of singing”which will be held on February 26 at the Ateneu Barcelonès.
Conxita Badia (Barcelona, 1897 – 1975) was the Catalan soprano and liederista with the longest career of the 20th century. He was an inspiration to many composers, who dedicated numerous songs to him, and he premiered many others. This conference aims to vindicate the figure of Conxita Badia, who became a significant agent for the dissemination of the Catalan and South American song repertoire.
