An edition dedicated to the Baile Bajo The Artistic Direction of Flamenco Projects
Flamenco city, organized by the Musicians Workshop, is a festival of creation, experimentation and exhibition of clásicas and heterodoxes, transgresora and interdisciplinary in the field of contemporary flamenco. Is celebrated from the October 17 to 26 in a renewed format under the artistic direction of Flamenco projects. Marta Piñol and Jose Manuel Álvarezin the Front of this Nueva Direction, they have dismissed a program that pone the focus in the baile y dockin the city of Barcelona, its flamenco vanguard and its most popular neighborhoods.
This October will have to put together with a Mayor or lower weight in the tradition, always from a review of the contemporary. The festival is, in addition, in a proximity event when occupying not Solo Barrios such as Sant Andreu, Nou Barris, Sagrera or Ciudad Meridiana, but also non -conventional equipment and the own public space.
Some of the Highlights of this edition are Sara Jiménez, Vanesa Aibar, Julio Ruiz, Antonio Molina «El choro» or The chicharrónwith its flamenco circus. In the Music section we will count artists such as the singer -songwriter Rocío Luna or the pianist José Carlos Hanza Fernándezthat will act in the circuit Aienruta-flamencosasy as Cristina López & Carlos Cuenca and Txarly Brown DJ.
En Flamenco District will generate a participatory process with Aina Núñez in the Civic Center Zona Nord. As a result of this intensive workshop, the spa will be presented P’alantein a day that will also count on the proposals of Marta Nogal, Miranda Alfonso and Naya binghi.
With this edition Nace also Battle cityan abierto competition until Julio 3 31 in Dance and Arts of the Movement linked to flamenco or to the Spanish dance. ‘The Battle’ commen on Instagram with an original choreographic pie and culminates in the scene in the Ateneu Popular in 9 neighborhoods in Barcelona, with Accesso abierto to the public.
The Domingo November 9, the dentro of the Off Flamenco city and with the collaboration of the Auditorium, will be presented Flamenco suitea concierto of the Bmb scary Pascual-Vilaplana which will count on the prominent participation of the singer Rafael de Utrera.
As programming parallel to the festival, the Taller de Músics has created a new format of Encuentro for the Flemish scene that aims to gather in its totalidad: Jondo Jewish. This program will extend to the end of the year and will take place in the Taller de Músics 24, in the Raval.
The festival is held in collaboration with Fabra i Coats, Nau Bostik, Ateneu Popular 9 Barris, Casa Seat, Civic Center of the Besòs, Civic Center Zona Nord, SAT! and the Auditorium.
