A comedy about the limits of humor and the culture of cancellation
the actor Jordi Diaz he has achieved it again. He has caught us again in a monologue in which now no one will be able to tell him that “the text has not aged well”: you know that, with this last sentence, I am talking about the work Men are from Mars and women are from Venuswhich ran for nine seasons and was based on the author’s book of the same name John Gray. If the text had not overcome the vertiginous changes from day to day, Jordi as an actor did face it with the same excellence to which he had accustomed us from the first day. But all these are figs from another basket.

At work Not kidding Díaz represents a monologist who talks about his life as an actor who goes on stage and has to entertain the audience with his explanations. He will make dissertations about his work, and he will think that he has already seen all the colors. Next to him is the actress Nesa Vidaurrázafawho represents a politician who has very clear aspirations: she wants to be mayoress. Between one, who believes he has an experience forged in failures and victories, and the other, who has dreams, there will be conversations that will focus on humor and its limits; in the culture of cancellation (one of the very current issues, with characters we now admire and then hate); self-censorship; the hypocrisy of human relations and more. And all this from two different perspectives because for the monologist, who confesses to be “thundered”, life has a different color than for the politician with aspirations to be mayoress. So much so, that in the work we understand that clichéd phrase that we have always heard: “life is different according to the lenses of each person’s glasses”.

The original text is from Xavi Moratóand the direction of Jofre Borras. Morató is the author of renowned musicals such as Football is like this (gay)of the comedy spring and the thriller Bildelberg. For his part, Borràs, who has participated as an interpreter in works such as One jet, two bosses, For the hairs or Shakespeare on the beathas directed other pieces like tidal waveof Dagoll Dagomin which he worked as an assistant director, and Small incident.
