Cooperative experiences that take care of people – Ateneo
Mental health is no longer a taboo topic to become a social priority. Increasing emotional disorders, especially among young groups, migrants and precarious workers, has made it clear that the conventional health system does not respond to all needs.
In the face of this reality, the ESS proposes a community and collective approach to mental health. Psychology cooperatives, mutual aid groups, self -managed therapeutic spaces, or emotional support programs are some of the ways this new way of understanding emotional well -being.
These experiences have in common to break with the individualized and medical gaze, to focus on social bonds, mutual support and prevention. They also seek to guarantee accessibility, offering services at fair prices or with solidarity payment systems.
From the Social Circle of the Ateneu Cooperativa del Baix Llobregat, this type of proposal is supported, connecting them to each other and encouraging their visibility. The aim is to contribute to a more inclusive, empathetic and transformative well -being, where mental health is a collective right and not an individual luxury.
