
Bringing the social and solidarity economy closer to the students of FP – Ateneu
The high school The Prat Salines has had the opportunity to go into theSocial and Solidarity Economy (ESS) with a visit to the Gavà Cooperators Uniona space with a long historical career at the service of the citizenry and the collective initiatives.
This activity, organized with the support of theAteneu Cooperativa del Baix Llobregatallowed the students of Vocational Training in Administration Understand not only the history of this emblematic equipment, but also to reflect on an alternative economic model based on cooperation and sustainability.
A journey through the history and future of the ESS
The session began with a tour of the beginnings of the Union of Cooperators (1929-1934) Until its current evolution as a space promoted by the citizens, entities and the City Council. After this introduction, the students explored facilities as the Laban innovative space equipped with 3D printers, laser and roboticswhere collaborative projects are developed with a look in the future of the ESS.
But the experience was not just theoretical. Through a Dynamic and participatory debatekey questions were asked about the co -operatives and viability of another economic model:

Inspiring future generations
With these activities the goal is demonstrate that an economic alternative is possible And that cooperatives can be a powerful tool for social and economic transformation. Perhaps, among this student, is the future founding team of a management cooperative or a new ESS project!
