PHOTO TALKS of photo connection

This lecture aims to address the process of building the book Defeat as One
poetic-historiographical exercise that challenges the official way of writing the history of the
photography
From the photographs taken by Kati Horna and Margaret Michaelis during the War
Spanish civil, the talk proposes to consider the photographic events as a
clots of time, affection and conflict that resist linear and canonical narrative. from
fragmented productions, displaced and marked by subalternity, it is proposed how
to construct histories of photography that do not reproduce the violence of a single genealogy,
patriarchal and monumental, but respond to the remains, the silences and the conditions
materials of the images.
Visual essay and poetic writing appear here not as accessory but as
critical strategies that enable a working memory of photography to be activated in the
context of the Spanish state, assuming the defeat not as a failure, but as a position from
of which to write against the epic, the progress and closure of the historical sense.
